Hi, I am working on a global build of West Nile virus and I am hoping to quantify introductions of Westnile into countries. Is it possible to do this with data from the results from Nextstrain?
Hi @rtk – in theory you can use augur traits
to infer countries across the tree and then count the jumps from the resulting node-data JSON. However be aware that this uses DTA and will almost certainly be biased by uneven sampling. Alternative approaches exist in Bayesian frameworks (e.g. BEAST) which should provide you with a more realistic confidence interval.
Okay great thank you for the reply.
